Welcome to Bear & Otter Outdoors — a small-but-mighty, family-run outdoor gear shop based in Georgia.
We’re the kind of people who believe good gear has stories attached to it. The knife that lives in your pocket every day. The flashlight that somehow ends up fixing three unrelated problems. The gear that earns its place over time.
That’s why we carefully hand-pick everything we carry — from affordable workhorses to heirloom-worthy blades, trail-ready tools, flashlights, sharpening gear, and everyday carry essentials.
If it doesn’t feel useful, well-made, or genuinely enjoyable to carry, it probably doesn’t make the cut.
How This All Started
Bear & Otter Outdoors began with a pop-up table, a love for good gear, and what can only be described as a mildly concerning amount of caffeine.
Since then, we’ve grown into an online shop and a regular presence at knife shows, bushcraft gatherings, outdoor expos, and adventure events across the Southeast — though we’re still powered by the same coffee-fueled enthusiasm that started this whole adventure.
We’re proud to stay small, personal, and community-focused.

Meet the Team
Otter — Camp Boss & Chaos Coordinator
Fueled by spreadsheets, creativity, and an unreasonable amount of mocha syrup, Otter handles the content, branding, logistics, and approximately 94% of the organized chaos behind the scenes.
If there’s a camera nearby, a newsletter scheduled, or a gear wall being reorganized again…that’s probably her doing.
Bear — Knife Whisperer & Camp Chaos Captain
Bear’s the gear guy — the one who can happily talk steel types, lock mechanisms, ergonomics, and why one particular knife just feels right for an hour straight.
At shows, he’s usually the one helping customers find the tool that clicks for them, whether it’s their first pocket knife or their next grail carry.
Where to Find Us
While we don’t currently operate a full-time retail storefront, you’ll find Bear & Otter Outdoors online and roaming between knife shows, bushcraft gatherings, expos, and outdoor events throughout the Southeast.
Our booth is usually easy to spot:
sharp gear, cheerful conversation, and at least one ongoing coffee situation.
