Based in Madison County, Georgia, Byrd has spent the last five years crafting dependable fixed blades inspired by real work, hunting, camping, and life outdoors. Every design starts with one question:

Will someone actually carry and use this knife?

His passion started with a custom Bowie knife made for his grandfather—a knife he still treasures today. That experience shaped his goal as a maker: build tools that aren't just owned, but trusted, used, and eventually handed down.

After knee surgery gave him time to finally dive into knife making, one project quickly became an obsession. Today he focuses on stock removal, proven steels, and comfortable designs that prioritize performance over flash.

Built to Last

Heat treating is where science meets craftsmanship. It's one of the most critical steps in the process, giving the blade the hardness and toughness needed to perform for years of real-world use.

Made to Be Used

A Byrd Custom Blade may be handsome enough for the display case, but it was never meant to live there. Every knife is tested before it leaves the shop because beauty means very little if the knife can't do the job it was built for.
