An old-school Mini Trapper with the steel to match.

The Case Mini Trapper pairs the familiar two-blade Trapper pattern with a compact 3.5-inch closed frame, and this version leans particularly hard into traditional pocket-knife character.

The handle wears genuine Dark Red Bone with Peach Seed jigging, giving it rich color and plenty of texture. Case's traditional shield, polished bolsters, and classic proportions complete a look that feels right at home on a carbon-steel slipjoint.

And yes—these blades are carbon steel, not stainless.

You get two mirror-polished blades: a 2.7" Clip Point for general cutting and detail work and a 2.8" Spey blade providing a second versatile working edge. Case carbon steel is particularly appreciated for its edge performance and ease of sharpening, but it does require a little more care than stainless steel.

With use, the blades can naturally develop a patina. Keeping them clean and dry and applying a light coat of oil helps protect the steel when you'd rather preserve that bright polished finish.

At approximately 2.7 ounces, it's a very traditional two-blade pocket knife in an easy-to-carry size.

Made in Bradford, Pennsylvania, USA, from domestic and imported materials.

Why We Like It

Dark red jigged bone and carbon steel.

Sometimes you really don't need to reinvent the pocket knife.

This one has all the old-school Case ingredients we want: Peach Seed jigging, rich red bone, two useful blades, and carbon steel that's allowed to change and develop character as the knife gets carried.

And putting all of that into the smaller Mini Trapper frame makes it much easier to justify slipping into a pocket.

Not that we're generally known for requiring much justification.

Carbon Steel Care

Unlike stainless steel, Case carbon steel can oxidize and develop a natural patina with use. That's normal and something many traditional-knife enthusiasts actually enjoy.

To maintain the blades, wipe them clean and dry after use and periodically apply a thin coat of knife-safe oil. Extra attention is especially helpful after cutting acidic or moisture-rich materials.

Natural Handle Variation

Dark Red Bone is a natural material, so color, jigging, and character can vary from knife to knife. Those differences are part of the character of a traditional bone-handled Case.
