The Begleiter, trimmed down and given the Clutch Lock treatment.

The Kizer Begleiter 2.9 takes the long-running Begleiter design and brings it into a compact 2.97-inch everyday pocket knife, pairing familiar clean lines with Kizer's adjustable Clutch Lock™.

This version uses a BD1N stainless steel drop-point blade with a flat grind and black PVD coating. At just under three inches, it's a versatile size for everyday cutting while keeping the complete knife comfortably compact.

The handle is made from black Norplex UltreX™ Micarta, with a textured vortex pattern that provides grip and develops its own character with handling and use. Thumb studs provide straightforward manual opening, while the Clutch Lock offers ambidextrous operation and adjustable spring tension so you can tune the action to your preference.

Kizer rounds things out with a fully recessed reversible deep-carry pocket clip. At only 2.3 ounces, the Begleiter 2.9 disappears remarkably well into a pocket for a full-handled folder.

Why We Like It

The Begleiter has been around long enough that Kizer didn't really need to reinvent it.

So naturally they messed with it anyway.

And we're glad they did.

The 2.97" blade and 2.3-ounce weight make this version particularly appealing for everyday carry, while BD1N, textured Micarta, and the Clutch Lock give you a thoroughly modern working knife underneath those wonderfully simple Begleiter lines.

For those of us who are apparently incapable of leaving the action alone once we discover it can be tinkered with.
