The RoseCraft Obed Creek Bow Trapper is one of Andy Armstrong's original patterns—a traditional-inspired slip joint that's evolved over time while keeping that distinctive sweeping profile.

This latest version carries a 3.1" 14C28N drop-point blade with a brushed satin finish, pronounced swedging, and a crisp half-stop. At 4.125" closed, it's a substantial traditional without getting unwieldy, giving you plenty of usable blade and a comfortable handle for everyday cutting tasks.

Then RoseCraft dressed this one in Vintage Red Jigged Bone. Each set of covers is jigged individually by hand, then dyed and finished to give it the varied, worn-in character of a pocket knife that's already spent years being carried. Lighter areas, smoother spots, and variations in the red are part of the look—not imperfections.

Brushed steel bolsters and liners, nickel silver pins, and RoseCraft's Spades shield finish off a traditional that's going to look even better once it starts picking up some pocket time of its own.

Please Note: RoseCraft's Vintage Red Jigged Bone is hand-jigged and intentionally finished with variations in color, texture, and wear. Genuine bone also naturally varies from piece to piece, so every Obed Creek will look a little different.

Why We Like It

Bear's Appalachian Jack has already established that RoseCraft's red bone wears beautifully, and apparently we're just going to keep testing that theory.

This isn't quite the same jigging as his Red Barnboard, but it has that same rich, vintage red character—and we've watched firsthand how good that look gets with actual pocket time.

Pair it with the sweeping Bow Trapper profile, 14C28N blade, and RoseCraft's hand-jigging, and this one seems almost obligated to be carried.
